It would be an understatement to say that data privacy regulations made a big impact in 2018 and 2019.
The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), enforceable after May 25, 2018, was the world first comprehensive data privacy regulation. But, it was just the beginning. Many other regulations have followed, but perhaps the next most impactful is the CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) which was signed just one month later.
